This Virginia Mercury article discusses how 2 Virginia congressmen skip a hearing where science experts warn that Trump’s Interior Department is sidelining scientists.
President Donald Trump’s administration has been sidelining researchers and suppressing climate change science at the U.S. Interior Department, experts warned Congress this week.
A climate change scientist and a former senior executive staffer at the Interior Department told the U.S. House Natural Resources Committee at a hearing Thursday that their work on climate change was stifled and that they experienced retaliation after the Trump administration took office.
Two Virginia congressmen are on the committee: U.S. Reps. Don McEachin, D-4th, and Rob Wittman, R-1st. Neither attended the hearing.
