Three arrested near Kirby Misperton fracking site

OLICE have arrested three men on suspicion of criminal damage at the Kirby Misperton fracking site. Officers attended after receiving a report of a group of people in dark camouflage clothing running through fields near Kirby Misperton at about 10pm on Sunday night.

LETTERS: Police costs will have to be borne by taxpayers

£100,000 was spent in September by North Yorkshire Police on their presence at the fracking site at Kirby Misperton, yet we have seen that many of the protesters are local pensioners and farmers.

Anti-fracking activist ticketed for beaming skull and crossbones onto Boulder courthouse

An activist associated with the group Boulder County Protectors was cited by police Tuesday night for projecting the image of a skull and crossbones along with the words “Ban Fracking!” onto the exterior wall of the old courthouse off the Pearl Street Mall.

Protesters arrested after blocking Habton Road, Kirby Misperton with two towers

PROTESTERS have been arrested after they built and occupied two wooden towers in the middle of Habton Road in Kirby Misperton. Police closed the road to all vehicles and pedestrians earlier after the incident began at about 3am today.

‘Concrete’ fracking protesters arrested

Two men who lay in the road and locked themselves in concrete this evening have been arrested on suspicion of obstructing the highway. The men were in Main Street, Kirby Misperton, from 5pm to 7pm. The road re-opened shortly after 7pm, after debris from the cutting was cleared from the road.

Reassurances sought over cost of policing protests at fracking site

A police and crime commissioner (PCC) is seeking reassurances from the Government that central funding will be available if the cost of policing daily protests outside a controversial fracking site rises above a certain level.
