Unholy clause “paves way for fracking at Catholic sanctuary of Fátima”

A call has gone out to Catholics “across the globe”: Fátima, Portugal’s “holiest of places”, visited by hundreds of thousands every year and this year celebrating the 100 years since the Apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is slap in the middle of an area signed over for oil and gas exploration.

Momentum against glyphosate spraying picks up

Opponents of glyphosate spraying say they feel they have momentum on their side.  In the last two weeks, the municipalities of Upper Miramichi, Moncton, and Petitcodiac have all started to question the practice of spraying glyphosate in their jurisdictions.

Let’s Protect Our Community

The huge amounts of gas this plant will burn will require more fracked wells in Pennsylvania. Fracking in Pa. produces over a billion gallons of toxic, radioactive liquid wastes and hundreds of thousands of tons of solid wastes each year.

In Lancashire tens of thousands of people signed a petition against the scheme and the county council worked against it. The Government then took that power away from the council and gave fracking the go ahead anyway against the wishes of the local people and the council, overturning democracy.
