Three arrested near Kirby Misperton fracking site

OLICE have arrested three men on suspicion of criminal damage at the Kirby Misperton fracking site. Officers attended after receiving a report of a group of people in dark camouflage clothing running through fields near Kirby Misperton at about 10pm on Sunday night.

LETTERS: Police costs will have to be borne by taxpayers

£100,000 was spent in September by North Yorkshire Police on their presence at the fracking site at Kirby Misperton, yet we have seen that many of the protesters are local pensioners and farmers.

Preston New Road fracking site neighbours are given £2000 payouts

The first compensation payments for living near a fracking site are to be paid this month, with households receiving up to £2,070. Cuadrilla, which is drilling shale gas wells near Blackpool, announced that it would be distributing £100,000 to residents living within 1.5km of the site at Preston New Road.
