Air impacts from Utah projects hit Bureau of Land Management radar screen

The Bureau of Land Management is working to address regional air-pollution impacts related to Utah oil and gas projects that could result in more than 9,000 new wells in coming decades. The agency is taking “very seriously” the air-quality and other concerns raised by the Environmental Protection Agency in connection with the Enefit American Oil shale project, BLM spokeswoman Lisa Bryant says. It’s likewise working to address air issues in connection with what are called the Monument Butte and Crescent Point oil and gas projects in northeastern Utah’s Uinta Basin, Bryant said.
