Weinstein: Boost energy’s resurgence with pro-growth policies

Tthe most important contributor to America’s industrial renaissance has been cheap and abundant energy, thanks to the “fracking boom” that started nearly a decade ago and has boosted domestic oil and natural gas output by more than 70 percent. Consequently, the average cost to manufacture goods in the United States is only marginally higher than in China and 10 percent lower than in most European economies.

In letter to state, Alaskans say they want more of a say on future fracking

They’re asking to be part of the permit process for fracking operations in the state. The letter requests that every time AOGCC receives an application from an operator that wants to undergo hydraulic fracturing, Alaskans not only be notified but also be allowed the opportunity to weigh in. As it stands now, the applications are not of public record or part of the public process, says Jody Columbine with AOGCC.
