A SWEEPING injunction against anti-fracking protestors has been continued by a High Court judge. The injunction – obtained by INEOS Shale in July – forbids any campaigner from interfering with their lawful activities, or risk being jailed, fined, or having their assets seized.

Lock-on fracking protest duo are found guilty of blocking key road
Two men have been found guilty after they took part in an anti fracking protest. They were arrested on the A583 outside the gas exploration site operated by Cuadrilla at Preston New Road, Little Plumpton on July 6 this year. It was part of a rolling month of protest against the gas extraction method.
Roseacre Wood fracking: New traffic routes proposed
Three revised routes for traffic at a proposed fracking site on Lancashire’s Fylde Coast have been revealed. Cuadrilla wants to extract shale gas at Roseacre Wood but has not been given approval by the government amid concerns over transport.

In October, the Scottish government announced that a ban on fracking would be extended ‘indefinitely’. The decision comes after a four-month public consultation showed overwhelming opposition to the fracking process, which involves injecting underground boreholes with high-pressure mixtures of water and rock to release shale gas.

Sadiq Khan to tell London councils they should ban fracking
London Mayor Sadiq Khan will this week recommend that councils across London block any appraisal, investigation or exploration for fracking for shale gas. The draft London Plan, set to be published this week, will “in effect ban fracking in London”, says the Observer. Khan will also say that any applications that reach his office will be denied, reports the BBC. Khan called the method of extracting shale gas “harmful” and a risk to public health, reports City A.M.. “There is absolutely no place for fracking in London and I remain firm in my belief that any such application must be refused,” he said.
