    • INEOS wins extension to anti-fracking protest injunction

      A SWEEPING injunction against anti-fracking protestors has been continued by a High Court judge. The injunction – obtained by INEOS Shale in July – forbids any campaigner from interfering with their lawful activities, or risk being jailed, fined, or having their assets seized.

      Three revised routes for traffic at a proposed fracking site on Lancashire’s Fylde Coast have been revealed. Cuadrilla wants to extract shale gas at Roseacre Wood but has not been given approval by the government amid concerns over transport.

      In October, the Scottish government announced that a ban on fracking would be extended ‘indefinitely’. The decision comes after a four-month public consultation showed overwhelming opposition to the fracking process, which involves injecting underground boreholes with high-pressure mixtures of water and rock to release shale gas.
