Grassroots Effort In Vancouver  Fought Big Oil — And Won

This article talks about how a grassroots effort to stop big oil in Vancover, Canada, was successful. Early this year, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee said no to a massive oil-by-rail terminal proposed in Vancouver, Washington. The city decided that the risk to their people was too high.

So why can’t the US look at things the same way? Because of lobbyists and money, perhaps?
