Elected leaders get cozy with Big Oil

The growing exposure of the cozy relationship between the White House and the oil and gas industry means two things. First, we need tangible proof from our local environmental champions that they are not working closely with Big Oil like the federal government now seems to be. Second, the fight against the oil and gas industry must take place at the state and local level. In Maryland, this means there is a cause for alarm when the chair of the Education, Health and Environmental Affairs Committee is so unwilling to take a firm stand on the issue of fracking.
